Hudson Valley landowners’ 22-year battle against New York land trusts

The fat cats who run land trusts actually believe they are entitled to anyone else's property just because they want it ... and in the case of the former Smitty's Dude Ranch in upstate New York, they have fought low down and dirty over the past 30 years to seize property that 28 years ago was sold, under a deed upheld many times in court, to a couple of modest means. Decency is not in the vocabulary of these modern day robber barons, who finally won a judicial victory after 22 years of fraudulent efforts, ridiculous claims, and other methods designed to destroy the ability of the owners to fight back.

“Climate Hustle” demolishes climate alarmism

Without presenting it to the U.S. Senate, as required by the Constitution, President Obama has signed the Paris climate treaty. He is already using it to further obligate the United States to slash its fossil fuel use, carbon dioxide emissions, and economic growth … control our lives, livelihoods, living standards, and liberties … and redistribute our wealth. Poor, minority, and working class families will suffer most. China, India, and other "developing" economies are under no such obligation, unless and until it is in their interest to do so. For them, compliance is voluntary – and they cannot afford to eliminate the [...]

On climate, we’re manipulated by sleight of hand

People of the world -- you are being hustled into surrendering your prosperity, your personal freedom, and maybe even your life itself to satisfy the cravings of an elitist few for centralized control over virtually every aspect of human life from the cradle to the grave. Fear mongers have become more crazed than the most dedicated jihadists in their zeal to do away with dissenters from their power grab (done in the name of saving the planet from life-giving carbon dioxide). CFACT's new movie, "Climate Hustle," empowers people to resist these gross acts of domination and stand up for freedom and the American dream of a prosperous future. Let May 2 -- when "Climate Hustle" hits theaters in over 200 American cities (and Toronto, Canada) -- be a day of liberation!

Obama targets electric grid for power grab

Now the President Obama has made good on his promise to bankrupt the U.S. coal industry, he (and his potential successors Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders) are poised to do likewise to the nation's oil and gas and nuclear power industries. Given that neither solar nor wind power is 24-7 reliable, this will surely lead both to massive financial ruin and intermittent energy availability in many parts of a very crippled U.S. economy. Worst of all -- this appears to be their vision, their goal -- to bankrupt America and put an end to personal freedom in the process.

Smelling blood in the political water

The great white environmentalist sharks smell blood in the water. It’s gushing from mortally wounded U.S. coal companies that the Obama EPA has gutted as sacrifices on the altar of “dangerous manmade climate change” prevention and other spurious health, ecological, and planetary scares. Peabody Energy, Arch Coal, and other once vibrant coal producers have filed for Chapter 11 protection, shedding some $30 billion in shareholder value and tens of thousands of jobs in their companies and dependent industries. The bloodletting has left communities and states reeling, union pension funds and 401-k plans empty, and the health, welfare, hopes, and dreams of [...]

Earth Day’s anti-fossil fuel focus could plunge millions into green energy poverty

As European nations come to grips with the exorbitant costs of energy subsidies and over-reliance on "green" energy (and build new coal-fired power plants to offset those costs and address the intermittent nature of wind and solar energy), the U.S. has been heading in the opposite direction -- President Obama's onerous Clean Power Plan. Thankfully, the plan is held up in court, as the world is beginning to recognize the enormous costs of complying with the non-binding Paris Climate Agreement. The question remains, though, whether America will go the way of California, which already has electricity prices 40% above the national average and the highest retail gasoline prices in the U.S.?

RICO for government climate deniers?

Throwing the First Amendment down the toilet, 17 state attorneys general (Democrats) have conspired to conduct an Inquisition against climate realists in order to protect the $1.5 trillion climate crisis industry from being exposed as a total fraud on the world's population -- one that is responsible for energy poverty in Africa that takes countless lives, a growing energy poverty in Europe that is killing tens of thousands, and so many more dire consequences. Having lost the battle to attack the credibility of dissenting scientists, the plan now is just to lock them up or fine them and disallow any public exposition of their research. This plan is not going to work, promises CFACT's Paul Driessen and coauthor Ron Arnold.

Methane mendacity – and madness

The Obama Administration drive to eliminate U.S. use of fossil fuels is nothing short of insanity (or a devious plot to weaken the U.S. against foreign foes). The results of these policies will either be catastrophic destruction of American cropland, fuel rationing (and maybe even vehicle rationing), and economic collapse. Meanwhile, so-called "developing" countries will get a free pass so that the overall impact on the environment will likely be negative. But the politicians and their friends will get rich rewards and not be bound by the diktats they impose on others.

Why you should mourn implementation of the Paris climate agreement

The President's Clean Power Plan will impose heavy burdens on poor and middle-class Americans -- raising their energy costs to as much as 75% of their after-tax income (and an average of 20% for those with incomes under $50,000). Even worse, the EPA admits these rules will have little impact on climate -- but will vastly increase government's control over individual human behavior.

It’s not just the Zika bug

It is mosquito season already, and there are various evils lurking about, notably the Zika virus which is spread by the same mosquito that gave us Yellow Fever. Mosquitos also spread Dengue and Chikungunya fever viruses. Take precautions, as the future pest control systems have yet to win FDA and USDA approval.

Rooftop solar companies will only play if the game is stacked in their favor

The past couple of weeks have highlighted the folly of the energy policies favored by left-leaning advocacy agencies that, rather than allowing consumers and markets to choose, require government mandates and subsidies. Three major, but very different, solar entities—none of which would exist without such political preference—are now facing their demise.  Even with the benefit of tax credits, low-interest loans, and cash grants that state and federal governments have bestowed on them, the solar industry is struggling. We’ve seen Abengoa—which I’ve followed for years—file for bankruptcy. Ivanpah, the world’s biggest solar power tower project in the California desert, is threatened with [...]

Alarmist sea level data may raise flood insurance

Once again, politics interferes with real-world truth, and the losers will likely be beachfront homeowners and other property owners who will face astronomically higher flood insurance costs. NOAA’s “corrections” to suggest warming between a huge 1998 El Niño another big one last year contradict data provided by a large integrated network of Argo ocean buoys operated by the British Oceanographic Data Center in combination with satellite-enhanced data which reveal no statistically significant warming.

Democrats seek to prosecute climate chaos skeptics with RICO

It’s been a rough stretch for Climate Armageddon religionists and totalitarians. Real World science, climate, and weather events just don’t support their manmade cataclysm narrative. The horrid consequences of anti-fossil-fuel energy policies are increasingly in the news. And despite campaigns by the $1.5-trillion-per-year government-industry-activist-scientific Climate Crisis Consortium, Americans consistently rank global warming at the very bottom of their serious concerns. But instead of debating their critics, or marshaling a more persuasive, evidence-based case that we really do face a manmade climate catastrophe, alarmists have ramped up their shrill rhetoric, imposed more anti-hydrocarbon edicts by executive fiat and unratified treaty – and [...]

The Big Green job-killing machine

The Center for Biological Diversity -- an offshoot of the violent radical group Earth First!, -- has been systematically using the Endangered Species Act to shut down jobs in the timber, mining, and other industries that once were major job suppliers in Western States. Worse, federal judges have been going along with this unwarranted taking of property and income for decades. It is time that this stops.
